Introduction
These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by HGC Electrical (Yorkshire) LTD ("the Contractor"). By accepting a quotation or engaging the Contractor for services, the Client agrees to the following terms and conditions.
Estimates
All quotations provided by the Contractor are valid for a period of 30 days from the date of issue. After this period, the Contractor reserves the right to revise the estimate.
Scope of Work
The scope of work will be outlined in the estimate provided. Any additional works which may be required in order to comply with BS7671 or building regulations which has not been outlined in the original quote will be subject to additional charges. Requests by the Client that is not included in the original quotation will be subject to additional charges, these additional extras will be signed for by the client were reasonably possible.
Payment Terms
Payment for services is expected within 7 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The Contractor reserves the right to charge interest on late payments at a rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Completion of Work
The Contractor will endeavour to complete all work within the agreed timeframe. However, the Contractor is not liable for delays caused by factors outside of their control, including but not limited to inclement weather, supply chain issues, or unforeseen site conditions.
Warranty and Liability
The Contractor warrants that all work will be performed to a professional standard and in compliance with relevant regulations, including BS 7671. Any defects in workmanship must be reported within 12 months of completion for rectification at no additional cost. The Contractor is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the services provided.
Cancellation and Termination
If the Client wishes to cancel the agreed services, they must provide written notice at least 48 hours before the scheduled start date. If specialist materials have been ordered for the job the contractor has the right to charge a handling fee for the goods. Cancellation after this time may incur a cancellation fee. The Contractor reserves the right to terminate the contract if the Client breaches any of these terms and conditions.
Health and Safety
The Contractor adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations and requires the Client to provide a safe working environment. The Client must inform the Contractor of any known hazards prior to the commencement of work, this includes any asbestos or other hazardous materials known to be at the property or site address.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Acceptance
By engaging the Contractor for services, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
